  • Patients who have previous coronary artery bypass surgery

Treatment for patients within these groups must be done by experienced, qualified medical professionals working under a multidisciplinary team approach. A number of specialized techniques may be utilized, including:
  • Special catheter
  • Rotablator, used in cases of coronary artery calcification. The device functions as a small medical drill to penetrate very hard blockage.
  • Cardiovascular Ultrasound (Intravascular Ultrasound: IVUS), uses a specially designed ultrasound probe attached to a catheter that is inserted into the coronary arteries. This is used to provide more detailed imaging of the areas of the coronary arteries, enabling doctors to make better treatment decisions and more accurate stent placements
  • Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) therapy helps reduce loading to the heart while having injury
  • Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), used in certain cases of heart or lung failure, in which the machine replaces the function of the heart and lungs
