Bumrungrad International Hospital proudly congratulates Clinical Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tossapol Kerdsirichairat, FASGE, a distinguished gastroenterologist, on his remarkable global accomplishments.
Clinical Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tossapol has served as a committee member at the prestigious Digestive Disease Week (DDW) annual scientific session from 2020 to 2024. In 2024, he achieved the historic milestone of becoming the first Thai physician invited to chair the endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) session organized by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). As chairman, Clinical Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tossapol played a crucial role in reviewing and selecting research from around the world to be presented in plenary sessions, topic forums, research forums, and poster presentations. He worked closely with the ASGE governing boards and oversaw significant presentations, including:
- Pancreatic EUS: Navigating Genomic Frontiers
- Pioneering Therapeutic EUS Techniques in Pancreatic and Small Bowel
- Effective Biliary Drainage - EUS is the New Kid in Town
Clinical Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tossapol was also invited to the prestigious Crystal Awards Night, a gala event that brings together the world’s leaders and experts in gastroenterology. At this year’s event, he celebrated and showed support for his former mentor and awardee, Prof. Dr. Martin L. Freeman, MASGE, MACG. Prof. Freeman played a pivotal role in guiding Clinical Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tossapol to advanced endoscopy training at Johns Hopkins University.
Furthermore, a mentee of Clinical Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tossapol, through the ASGE and American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) programs, has been accepted into the prestigious Johns Hopkins Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship Program. This marks a proud moment for Clinical Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tossapol, as he is the only mentor outside the US to have achieved such impactful guidance.
