Significance to patient care:| - Dr. Sakkarin Chirapongsathorn is a gastroenterologist, hepatologist at Bumrungrad International Hospital and faculty member of Phramongkutklao College of Medicine, Bangkok, Thailand. He attended fellowship at Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA from 2014-2016, and subsequently continued his medical training in Digestive and Liver Diseases. He is currently regular member of Mayo Clinic Alumni Association and The Bockus International Society of Gastroenterology, the international was founded in 1958 in honour of Dr. Henry L Bockus (1894-1982) by his former students, residents and fellows at the Graduate School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA to promote international medical friendship, and excellence in patient care, education and research collaboration.| - Dr. Sakkarin works to improve understanding of the mechanisms and complications of Digestive and Liver Disease, in the hopes of developing new strategies of prevention and treatment that will improve quality of life and overall outcomes for patients with various digestive and liver diseases.
