According to the World Health Organization (WHO), hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a major issue across the globe, affecting 1.13 billion people worldwide. Impacting this are three risk factors. Firstly, the fact that there are often no symptoms relating to hypertension and secondly, around 20 percent of conditions are not effectively managed. Thirdly, unchecked this can lead to heart disease as well as a wide range of other serious and life-threatening illnesses.
