Evening Food and Tuk Tuk Adventure

Essential Trails

asia25-(1).jpg

Indulge in diverse Thai street food on an excellent after dark tour conducted in iconic tuk-tuks. Our culinary exploration takes us to the fascinating Thonburi, Rattanakosin and Chinatown areas in three-wheeled vehicles that provide a more personal connection with the capital’s beating heart as we whizz down small roads to eateries off the tourist trail. Besides culinary exploration, this pleasure trip includes cultural discovery as we absorb floodlit landmark sites in the historical quarter. We will learn how the kingdom’s provinces influenced the national cuisine and elevated it onto the world stage. Thonburi is located on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River and was briefly the capital in the 18th century after Ayutthaya was ransacked by Burmese invaders. Rattanakosin is the essence of 18th and 19th century Siam and home to the country’s most important buildings, including the Grand Palace. Chinatown is the largest Chinatown in the world and it comes alive in the evening when streetside eateries appear. This is a food adventure that will leave appetites satisfied and minds culturally enriched. For those who prefer more sightseeing, we also run a cultural ‘Bangkok Night Lights Tuk-Tuk Tour’.

Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River provides a wealth of tourism experiences. This waterway is a vital thorough fare for travel and the movement of people and goods. As the night draws in and the sunsets over the Chao Phraya River, buildings are cast in a whole new light. Busy river life continues and an evening cruise lets us admire the view as we drift slowly up the river. Taking in the atmosphere as we dine on a converted rice barge, we pass shimmering temples, glistening skyscrapers and a rich stream of nocturnal river traffic that greets us from every direction.
