A Bone infection happens when organisms get into the bone or joint.. Viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites can all cause infections. Our skin normally has bacteria on it. It is these organisms that most often cause infections in the bones and joints. Staphylococcus aureus is the most often causes infections in children.
