Over the past year, the Bumrungrad Mobile Clinic had been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as the situation began to improve, resuming the mobile clinic was considered. Eventually, after making sure all the arrangements were made to ensure the safety of both patients and medical staff, the Bumrungrad Mobile Clinic was able to restart.
As of January 2022, the Bumrungrad Mobile Clinic is once again in service. Twenty-two communities would be visited by the clinic with the appropriate safety measures in place. Seventy percent of the people in these communities have received at least two COVID-19 vaccine doses. Each community is also expected to inform the hospital of COVID-19 infections days prior to the mobile clinic’s visit. In order for the mobile clinic to visit the community, there must be no reported COVID-19 cases for at least 10 days prior. People presenting symptoms including fever, coughing, sneezing, or sore throat are required to go directly to their hospital.
On January 14, 2022, the mobile clinic visited the Rong Poon Community, which has a population of about 4,000 people and 750 households. With many people having difficulties accessing medical services, the arrival of the mobile clinic was highly anticipated, especially for elderly community members. A total of 53 people received medical care from the mobile clinic during this visit, all of whom cooperated very well in COVID-19 prevention measures; including wearing masks, washing hands or using alcohol gel, checking their temperatures, and maintaining social distancing, everyone did their part and helped keep the event safe and organized.
Thank you, Bumrungrad Hospital Foundation and the Thomson Fund, for supporting the Bumrungrad Mobile Clinic for over 21 years.
