On the occasion of Bumrungrad International Hospital’s 40th anniversary, a press conference was held on the topic of
“Thailand’s private hospitals’ potential and readiness to be in the forefront of the world’s medical tourism post-COVID-19,” with
Pharmacist Artirat Charukitpipat, Chief Executive Officer of Bumrungrad International Hospital, who spoke on the topic of “40 years of Bumrungrad and moving forward after COVID-19.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Taveesin Tanprayoon, Chief Medical Officer of Bumrungrad International Hospital, also spoke on the topic of “40 years of delivering successful medical care at Bumrungrad.” Together they introduced a group of Bumrungrad medical professionals and hospital management who alongside them accepted the Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA) COVID-19 certificate. Bumrungrad International is the first hospital in the world to receive certification for health safety in the medical tourism industry.
Additionally, at the event there was a panel discussion on the topic of
“Case study of COVID-19 and the potential impact on the service sector of Thailand in the future,” with guest speakers from the tourism industry of Thailand including
Mr. Komkrit Duangngern, Director Product Creation Division – Tourism Product Department of the Tourism Authority Thailand (TAT);
Mr. Thana Thienachariya, SEVP, Chief Marketing Officer and Head of External Communication & CSR (Acting) of Siam Commercial Bank; and
Dr. Piyapong Thanyasrisung, Senior Executive Vice President of Central Department Store Limited; as well as
Ms. Napas Paorohitya, Chief Marketing Officer of Bumrungrad International Hospital, all who contributed their thoughts and views on the future of the medical tourism industry under the New Normal, as well as the new directions of Thailand post-COVID-19.
To conclude,
Mrs. Lydia Sarunrat Deane, spoke on being a Bumrungrad International Hospital patient, sharing her positive experiences undergoing medical care at the hospital. Each guest came to speak about efforts and innovations that will contribute to the country’s economy during the COVID-19 situation.
